Possible UIP Pattern

The criteria for a possible UIP pattern are identical to that of a definite UIP pattern with the absence of honeycombing, which is necessary to make a diagnosis of definite UIP.5 In this case, there is peripheral- and basal-predominant reticulation with ground glass opacity, but a noted absence of honeycombing, disallowing a diagnosis of definite UIP. These features are consistent with a pattern of possible usual interstitial pneumonia.
